Add New Congregation

Congregation Name * Must be unique. This name will be displayed throughout the application.

Distance to Work Location (in miles) * Important: Congregations with smaller distances get priority for earliest and latest shifts. Enter the approximate distance in miles from this congregation to the work site.

Distance Priority Explained

The distance value is used by the scheduling algorithm to prioritize shift assignments:

Smallest distance = Highest priority for early morning and late evening shifts
This ensures workers with the shortest commute handle the most demanding shifts
Example: Distance 3 miles gets priority over distance 10 miles

After Creating a Congregation

Once you create a congregation, you can:

Add Workers: Navigate to Workers and create new workers assigned to this congregation
Family Grouping: Workers with the same last name in the same congregation are automatically treated as family
Scheduling: The congregation's distance will be used for shift prioritization
